FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I have no health insurance. What are your fees?

My fees are based on the amount of time I spend with my patients. Many patients find my fees surprisingly affordable, given that in many cases once they their health improves or their health concerns disappear they no longer have take expensive medications or subject themselves to risky treatment methods. In general, I find that my patients get better much more quickly under my care compared to strictly allopathic or pharmaceutical treatment methods. Please call my office for detailed information on fees.

Which health insurance policies do you accept?

I don't participate directly with any health insurance company. However, there are health insurance policies that will reimburse patients for my medical services. These are usually PPO or POS type plans that allow for reimbursement when patients consult with physicians outside of the health insurance network. I do provide billing codes that insurance companies need to make a determination on reimbursement. If in doubt, I recommend that you contact your health insurance company before scheduling an appointment with me. Ask them the following questions: 1) How much do you reimburse for physician services outside of the health plan network? 2) How much do you reimburse for laboratory testing ordered by a physician outside of the network? Do you accept Medicaid or Medicare patients?

Yes, but Medicaid or Medicare will not pay for my services because I do not participate with them. So payment is expected at the time of the appointment.

Where is your office located?

My office is conveniently located in Olney, Maryland. Office visits are by appointment only. Patients visit my office from all over Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. For those who travel from great distances I am available for telephone consultations. Please call my office for driving directions.

Do you speak Spanish?

No, I don't very well. I am studying the language so perhaps in one year I will have adequate working knowledge. Besides English, I am fluent in Dutch, my native language.

Patients who speak Spanish or another foreign language usually bring a family member or friend to help with translation.
